Fifty years ago women were not allowed to do things like running a marathon to buying a credit card. In order to learn from our past and better our future we must figure out what we did wrong, what we can do to make it better and try our best to not let it happen again. If our community does not learn from our past mistakes history will repeat itself and that would not be a good mindset or lifestyle for billions of people. In Hiroshima and many other places in the world, women were viewed as inferior to men and still are to this day. In the book Hiroshima you can see that Mrs.Nakamura “had a long history of doing what she was told” (Hershey 6). Mrs. Nakamura was taught not to make decisions for herself, but to let men make decisions for her.
