Harry's relationships with his bandmates, Johnny, Cheyenne, and Richie, are a significant part of the story. They support and encourage him, and he learns to trust them and rely on them. Through his interactions with them, Harry begins to understand the importance of having people in his life who care about him and accept him for who he is. The novel also contains several archetypes, including the outsider, the hero, and the mentor.
The first main idea comes right from the first sentence. Harry states, “[as] young as I was, I knew it was all a lie.” This is a very important thing to keep in mind of how a boy at a young age is able to know that this is not real. This shows that he is an intelligent child. That is until the next line in which he reveals his naïve personality.
From coping with of loss, gaining responsibilities, and learning to accept his town and his life, Harry is able to make this transition. What I like about it is the dialogue and how descriptive the author is with his words. The thinking is complex and really pulled me into the story. For example when Mr. Wiggins explained what a hero was and talked about God to Jefferson. What I dislike about this book is the lack of impact. Personally, I like a story that can keep me on my toes and make twists and turns that surprise me.

Odysseus, a True Hero In the Odyssey, Homer beautifully illustrates Odysseus’ qualities that make him a hero. While reading the Odyssey, a reader learns of the hardships Odysseus and his crew face on their treacherous journey home from the Trojan War. They experience dangerous traveling conditions and terrifying monsters, and only Odysseus makes it out alive. This was a journey full of unfortunate events and learning opportunities. Odysseus proves he is a true hero by showing throughout his endeavors that he is clever in his actions, devoted to the people around him, and good hearted in all aspects of his life.
Near the beginning of the novel, all of the adults disappear while the children are at school. No one knows what's happening, everyone decides to leave the school and find their parents. All of the little children are screaming and crying. Next, Luna is a main character within the book and all she has is her dog Patrick and she doesn’t believe that she can live without him, but a crazy mishap happens to her. Lastly, Sam and Caine hated each other through the entire novel and near the end Sam has to opportunity to kill him.
In Homer’s “The Odyssey”, Odysseus has to face many obstacles on his journey. In many ways, Odysseus’ journey is similar to life. Odysseus’ goal that he wanted to achieve was to make it back to his homeland after fighting in the Trojan war. My goal is to become a photographer. I will have struggles like Odysseus did, and I will learn to overcome them.
I adore the characters in the book it’s a very enjoyable book. The mystery in this book is very admiring because there are very different elements that can make it a great book. The fact that Justice Lawrence Wargrave ended up being the killer came to a surprise to me. Usually I am not one for reading but I highly enjoyed this book because the characters all had different personalities that helped support the book being such a great read. My favorite character had to have been Vera Clawthone because mostly she was the protagonist and that means that she was the main character in the story although I also liked philip lombard too.
Socrate lived from 470-399 B. C. and died by the death penalty because his accusers did not like the way that he spoke of them. Socrates told the truth as he saw it, he knew he accusers to be evil men and they did not like this. Socrates accusers tried to silence him by the death penalty, but Socrates knew that there was no reason to lower himself to speak in their manner just to save his own life, because he was getting on in years and he would be at rest soon anyway. Socrates was sent to death for speaking his mind, he was not allowed the freedom of speech and he payed for it with his life.

Harry always puts his friends first, and in this book one of the people who are put in danger is his close friend Hermione, and in the end his best friend’s sister is abducted. The book’s theme can be compared to many other books, for example The Hunger Games. Katniss, the main character in that book, volunteers to be a part of a dangerous game so that she can protect her little sister. But the book is also about character development and being a good person.
