The Piano Stairs Experiment proposes that if you make something fun, such as the stairs, then people will be more likely to choose the fun option. In this experiment, they have chosen to turn stairs next to an escalator into a piano to challenge if more people would be likely to choose the stairs over the escalator. Each step of the stairs corresponds with a key on the piano whereas the escalator has been left unchanged, therefore only the stairs have been changed. The objective is to find out if the concept of fun can change the behavior or people.
