Many School districts around the country have recently been addressing the problem of social media concerning both students and teachers in the schools. The main argument has been that it is inappropriate let student have access to the private lives of teachers and vice versa, but some fully support the idea of social media being incorporated into the daily lives of both the teacher and his pupils. While both sides put up convincing arguments, it is hard to look past all of the negativity that is cast upon this topic. Before making a decision on which side to support, it is smart to take a look at both the positive and negative comments about this subject. These occurrences have been highlighted by many media outlets, vilifying the very thought of including any kind of social media activity in school. Some states have gone as far as to advise against any kind of contact on social media, for the safety of both the teacher and the student. Though many examples we see in the news are bad ones, there can also be good uses of social media inside the learning place. Some teachers in schools have found ways to usefully incorporate social networking into their classrooms. A few educators have made social pages dedicated to their classes’ work, a place where students can sign on, view assignments, see announcements, and even submit work. These pages also allow for the students to contact a teacher directly if something were to impede their ability to attend class, or complete work. Regardless of the usefulness of these networking sites, some schools still think that it is inappropriate for teachers to have such immediate access to the private lives of
