In the article Suicide Rates it states"The total age-adjusted suicide rate in the United States increased 35.2% from 10.4 per 100,000 in 2000 to 14.2 per 100,000 in 2018, before declining to 13.9 per 100,000 in 2019 and declining again to 13.5 per 100,000 in 2020." National Institute of Mental Health ) Because of suicide, the suicide rates have grown very fast and people don't seem to stop it soon. Suicide is a huge problem within kids and social media doesn't help make it go away. Social media has grown and so has the suicide rates throughout the world and before social media was as big as it is, suicide wasn't even a common name. Some would say social media is how kids reunite with friends and classmates after school hours. It's said social media helps and gives kids a huge creativity spike and helps their minds run free.
