When it comes to social media in classrooms, the people who think that it should not be used just think of the extreme, unlikely cases that could occur. The people who believe that social media usage needs to be banned must have never even thought of the positive factors of its usage. The use of social media should be used in every classroom for multiple reasons. By using it in classrooms, it gives students instant information and feedback, allows the quieter students to become more of a participant in class, and also offers a chance for students to learn more technological skills. When using social media in classrooms, it allows the students to get instant information and feedback from teachers. Students could be sent home to work on a project over the weekend, and what would they do if they had a question? Before the use of social media, there could be no way of getting in contact with the teacher. Also, it is an extremely quick way to get out information to all the students. However, by using social media in classrooms, it would actually be putting their “addiction” to good use. Instead of posting an update saying something useless, they’ll be posting something that they had learned in that particular class. Another argument some people may have is that students can misuse social media, which is also incorrect. This statement is incorrect because on social media everyone can see what someone posts. So if a student were to post something inappropriate, then the teacher would automatically see it. By having the teacher constantly monitor what students post, there’s an extremely low chance of a student risking the misuse of social media. With those just being small issues, there’s very simple ways to be able to get around those
