The tax cuts and tax reform experiments by President Coolidge and Secretary Mellon had significant impacts on both the national economy and taxpayers themselves. In the year 1920, the rate of the highest tax bracket sat at 73%, and the lowest at 4% (Lowest and Highest Tax Brackets and Tax Rates: 1920-1928). This was largely to pay off debts owed from World War l. But, as the country was being returned to normalcy after the war, Coolidge and Mellon took this as an opportunity for tax reform. They believed that the high tax rates were hurting the US citizen more than they were helping him, and thus an era of tax reformation was born.
Politics influenced the American culture with its economic prosperity and evolved societies with the rise of political movements. A political figure that emerged and contributed to this prosperous decade was Calvin Coolidge. He established the the beginning of his political career as a city councilman (Encyclopædia 891). From this profession, Coolidge soon became the mayor of Northampton, state senator, and then lieutenant governor (Encyclopædia 891). During his time as the governor of Massachusetts, he was involved in the Boston Police Strike of 1919 where he captured the attention of the nation (“About Coolidge”).
Calvin Coolidge Calvin Coolidge was the 30th president of the United States. He was born July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Virginia. Colonel John Calvin Coolidge was his father who served lots of terms in the state legislature. His mother Victoria died when Calvin was just a young boy at the age of twelve. He only had one sister who’s name was Abigail who was about three years younger than him and she died when she was in her teens.
As Calvin Coolidge became president his main objective was to work towards the betterment of the economy in the United States. He did this by keeping the government relatively based on business. “Coolidge wanted business to run the country; he wanted fewer government regulations, higher tariffs, lower taxes, and a reduced federal debt. He favored business not because he hated labor, but because he thought the president should reflect the popular will, and the people wanted business to operate largely unfettered” (Hamilton). The tactics Coolidge used in his presidency was to try to make whatever the people wanted to happen.
As they come together, some couples start a family. The kids are now being raised in a world where mothers are doing more thing fathers once did and vise versa. I believe that men and women have major differences both physically and emotionally. The physical differences between men and women are easy to see.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where some people are oppressed by their race, ethnicity, or even gender. In 1840, Brisbane became a regional community for free settlers of these many families desired to have their children educated. These settling families, mostly with Irish catholic backgrounds, believed that education was able to provide jobs and financial security for the family not only for the child/children. The catholic church believed schools were a high priority not only for education that lead to jobs and financial security, but to strengthen the catholic church and its community in Brisbane. (Ryan, 2009) As the Catholic Church felt so strongly about establishing schools and education for the children of the early settlers, new schools were often built first in new areas and then the church was built.

The President Nobody Remembers John Calvin Coolidge Jr. was the only president born on independence day. As a young boy, Coolidge grew up in a town of only 1,699 people. His father was a hardworking man, who owned a general store in the small town and taught Coolidge how to be a businessman. Calvin Coolidge was the 30th president who started off with a popular reputation, however, with the emergence of the Great Depression during his tenor, the popular opinion of him soon became negative. Coolidge was accused of several scandalous actions that had a long term effect, not only on the United States, but on the integrity of his personal reputation.

The learner believes that there are four major signs that make us human; the need to love, the need to be loved, the need to be accepted and the need to be respected as an individual. None of these things can be accomplished alone, therefore, a relationship needs to be formed. The more effective the relationship the more these needs are able to be met. In the study of marriage and family we look into the areas that can either make or break relationships.
