The Crusades And The After Math Throughout the duration of the Crusades, many major events occurred changing the status of multiple cities, the surrounding territories, along with the lives those who dwelt in the affected areas. When the Fourth Crusade came to an end, the impact that these crusades had made become clear, especially for Western Europe. The Crusades influenced Western Europe in that it encouraged trade, it stimulated the growth of towns, and it reduced the power of the nobility. First, the Crusades encouraged trade between the Middle East and Western Europe. During the Crusades soldiers would go out to the Middle East and discover new things that they wanted to take back home with them, things that were yet to be available in Western Europe. But, the soldiers could not find everything they needed in the east; they still needed items that could only be found in Europe. Because of this, the two territories engaged in trade. This growth was due to the increases of trade, as explained above, which lead to a need for more people. When trade was occurring between territories, the resources that were being traded increased in production, some to stay and some to be traded. This increase in production lead to an increase in the need for people to help manufacture these resources, pack them, load them to be shipped, and unload the received resources, an increase in jobs. An increase in jobs meant that more people were going to move into the towns where the traded resources were manufactured. This growth within the towns affected Western Europe in that, more people were spending their pay, whatever they got in return for manufacturing, packing, loading or unload the trade goods, within those towns, stimulating the economy and increasing the revenue of the
