On Monday 9th November 2015 I watched, ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime’ at the Gielgud theatre in London which is a play written by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliot. The piece was largely a comedy but had a certain degree of seriousness attached to the matters discussed as the play revolves around the life of a 15 year old boy named Christopher who has Asperger’s syndrome which is a form of austism that affects the ability to socialize and communicate effectively. Once again he calls out in a high pithced voice whilst also using an elongated ‘e’ sound as he shouts, ‘Toby’ which once more proves his immaturity, as he is still ignorant to the danger. He used physical movement to create tension when searching for Toby and his pace was slow and untroubled and his loud call was also accompanied by a slight giggle which reicprocated the idea to the audience that he was immature and was dangerously close to death. At this point I was so nervous that my heart was beating fast for him. After finally clasping Toby in his grip he stood completely still in silence and looked dead ahead and in the background the sound of the approahing train can be heard and once more the actor
