Manny’s narrative in Parrot in the Oven is relatable because we both have family issues, don’t feel like we belong, and last but not least changes in our financial situations. In the book "Soldier's Heart" by Gary Paulsen, the character Charley Goddard experiences war in a way he never thought he would. The author uses these experiences to create an image of how horrid war really is, and how it is truly unacceptable. I designed my shoe based on these experiences Charley has. River Runs Through It Keelan Bartlett In the book River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean It is about a guy named Norman who has a lot of different people around him, especially his brother who needs help. Norman finds it very hard throughout the book to give help to others because either the person doesn’t want help, or he doesn’t like the person enough to put energy into helping that person. Throughout the book, Paul, the younger brother, needs help. He has a bad drinking problem, he gambles, he fights, he is broke, and just needs help, but the problem is that he doesn’t want help from anyone but his brother because he respects his brother Norman.

The Bridges at Toko-Ri The Bridges at Toko-Ri was a great novel, but it hit some rough spots along the way and it was hard for me to read this book at the beginning. The author, James. Michener, throws the reader into a random spot in the Korean War with no specific date or time. The novel was particularly good once I had gotten used to the author’s style choice of writing (detailed, but After reading this book, I have a better idea of how the men that lay down their lives every day feel when they are at war or are about to carry out an important mission. People overlook soldiers in the U.S. Military, seeing them as tough and intimidating men.
The whole point of the war was to fight for freedom, and for the education of others. In the excerpt from Night john by Gary Paulsen the point of view was about learning the alphabet. The point of view was to teach the helpless slaves by teaching them the alphabet. Night John wanted the slaves to feel free, and to be free by disobeying the slave owner by teaching them knowledge. The whole idea was to get the slaves to break the rules by learning what they aren't supposed to be learning.
Conflicts occur frequently in literature and life, but are they necessary? In my opinion, we do need to have conflicts so we could learn from them. We will analyze the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell and how the author uses external conflict or man vs. nature, external by man vs. animal and external conflicts or man vs. man to reveal character motivation or development. This short story is about a guy (Rainsford) who falls off a ship and swims to an island and finds out that Zaroff hunts people for entertainment. As Richard Connell states on page 7 .
