If there is a chance of something happening, then there is always belief that it could happen no matter the circumstances. Brother was at fault for Doodle’s death because he was not a good brother or person for abandoning him. Brother left him knowing he had a disability and he was vulnerable in the storm. Brother was making Doodle do absurd things like swimming much too hard or running beyond his abilities. It became too much for Doodle to continue on living with all of this work he was putting into learning to do things like walking. “I made him swim until he turned blue and row until he couldn’t lift an oar. Wherever we went, I purposely walked fast, and although he kept up, his face turned red and his eyes became glazed.”(Hurst 4). Brother made Doodle do things that he thought he should be able to do but his physical condition did not allow him to. It caused a lot of stress to the both of them because they could not handle all that was going on with Brother and Doodle. This did not end well for either because the consequences outweighed the work going into it, such as Doodle collapsing. Doodle was pushed too hard that it became a problem and resulted in the issues proved to be too much for him. The death of Doodle was Brother’s fault because his actions were not those of a good brother or person. Brother left Doodle out in the storm when he had fallen and could not get up. He had knowingly left him even after hearing that the was unable to walk. This left Doodle at the mercy of the storm which ultimately resulted in his death.
