Most people believe that wearing a vibrant uniform, with badges on pinned on your chest or medal around your neck makes you stand out, or having your name upon a board with broken records makes you a great leader. You can be as simple as a parent, a teacher, a coach, even just your plain self. These everyday people show leaderships by directing others of their mistakes, aiding or supporting someone in need, and encouraging us to lead others. Odysseus would be example in the Odyssey when he show his soldier a plan to escape the cyclops. Most of everyone believe theses are true values of a leader, but some of them don’t necessarily mean the full definition of leadership. The words authority and leadership have some characteristics in common, but don’t release the same definition as the other. The meaning of authority to having power and control over an individual or a group , while leadership is to show guidance. Also have some similarities they strive for different goals. For instance, A king has authority to attack what ever kingdom he wants whenever. The reason why is because he has the highest rank over everyone in the kingdom and has power to order his soldier what to do.
