The Holocaust is easily one of the worst events in the history of mankind. World War Two started in 1939 when a mentally unstable man by the name of Adolf Hitler invaded many countries. The main ones consist of Poland, France, and Denmark. The Nazis main objective was to kill all of the Jewish population worldwide. The Nazis finally got what they deserved when the allied forces landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944, also known as D-Day. Studying the Holocaust is beneficial to one's education because you will learn from history, recognize the propaganda that was being used, and finally learn sympathy for those who suffered. In the book “The Diary of Anne Frank” Anne Frank and her Jewish family hid in the attic for over 2 years, a girl by the name of Miep had been supplying the Jewish family with ration books but the people from whom Miep got the ration books from had been arrested so Anne states “So we have had to cut down on our food. Our stomachs are so empty that they rumble”(Frank). This quote states that Anne Frank and her family are struggling to get food; people nowadays need to understand early that it wasn't easy to get food back then and that the Jews were in a hard time during the Holocaust.
