There are many common elements to the faiths of the West Asian origin. These religions trace their common origins back to Abraham, or recognize traditions that are identified by him. The life of Abraham was one of the most intriguing narratives in the Bible. His mind was so receptive to the voice of God. The largest Abrahamic religions in chronological order of appearance in the world are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Commonalities in these religions include their belief about a God, their understanding of humans, their ideas of the future, and their relationship with God, and His guidance in it.

When we do negative, harmful things we choose to move further away from God. Sometimes we forget that God is there; though he never leaves us. Every one of us has choices and is capable of change. God gave his life for our sins. We owe God obedience and glorification. Although the past and present may be difficult, all three faiths are hopeful for the future. Suffering cannot ultimately prevail. God has provided a state of being in Paradise. All three religions agree, but have differing names for this. Unconditional bliss will be available for all who walk with God. God and humans can and should communicate with each other. By revelation through prophets, God speaks to us. These are recorded in the scriptures of each religion. In Judaism, they have the Torah. Christians have the Bible and the scriptures in Islam are in the Quran. Our duty is to respond in prayer and to accept God’s commandments in our daily living. God guides us with basic rules to adhere to and a mind that knows when to use them. All three Abrahamic religions despise murder and killing of the innocent. We are to show respect, and to help the needy. An honest day’s work is commendable.
