The Enlightenment has made people think of ideas far beyond their capability. The Enlightenment is an academic movement of thinking or otherwise known as the ¨Age of Reason¨. Many people have led to the start of the Enlightenment. This began a chain reaction of new ideas and changed the way people think. Before this time period people only believed what was told to them and didn't think for themselves. The historical context, causes, and effects of this issue have a powerful impact on the world today.

There has been many contributions to the Enlightenment by philosophers. Researchers like Isaac Newton and authors like John Locke we're testing the old request. Newton's laws of gravity and movement depicted the world regarding normal laws past any power. The ideas of John Locke made people think differently. He thought there needed to be a change in the government in order to preserve natural rights of life,liberty,and property (UShistory,2016). John Locke said that there existed an agreement between the general population and the legislature,that the general population were at last sovereign and had treated the government keeping in mind the end goal to meet certain political needs (suny suffolk,2016). As long as the administration serve those requirements it deserved the support of the people (sunysuffolk,2016). When the government failed to satisfy those requirements their part of the deal,then the general population were no longer committed to the legislature,in reality,the general population took over and replaced the government with a better one (sunysuffolk,2016). Benjamin Franklin was a great inventor at this time, he had invented many things by taking other people's inventions and making them safer and more efficient than they were before. Benjamin made the first ever bifocals. He made them by cutting his glasses in half then adding his long distance lenses on top and his reading lenses on the body (gettysburg.2016). The Franklin Stove was a stove that held in the fire and brought air to the back of the chimney rather than the front (gettysburg.2016). Before the Franklin Stove people heated their houses using fireplaces,the fireplace was very dangerous because there was no control of the fire. The Franklin Stove also burned less wood than the fireplace (gettysburg.2016). There was a big problem from lightning because many people's house would catch fire if struck by lightning. So Benjamin Franklin invented the lightning rod that would prevent lightning from starting a fire(gettysburg.2016). This worked because the rod would be attached to the roof of the house and the other end would be ten feet into the ground (gettysburg.2016). These inventions have improved the safety for people,without these inventions people would be at a much higher risk of injury or
