Lauryn Argitis English Two March 9, 2015 Luxury Book Project Three The Fault in Our Stars The purpose of writing this essay is to inform you on real life situations that young kids or even adults have to like, cancer. The book The Fault in Our Stars is written by John Green and within this book there are three themes which are the fear of suffering, fear of oblivion, and reality of cancer. In this essay I will explain more about those themes. The Fault in Our Stars is about a seventeen year old girl named Hazel-Grace Lancaster who has Stage Four Thyroid Cancer and has to attend a cancer patients support group that she doesn’t really like, but he mom is making her go to them. In the support group that Hazel-Grace goes to she meets a boy named, Augustus Waters. Hazel-Grace and Augustus start spending more and more time with each other and Hazel starts to realize that she has strong feelings for Augustus, but she doesn’t want him to know that because she knows at some point her cancer is going to kill her and she doesn’t want Augustus to fall in love with her and then her be gone. While Hazel was realizing all of her feelings for Augustus her lungs filled with fluid and she was then sent to the hospital. This is all happening will they are still in Amsterdam after they met Van Houten and they toured Amsterdam and after that Hazel and Augustus kissed and after that Augustus shared with Hazel that his cancer has come back and it’s not
