The word fear is a major part of our lives. It doesn't matter if the person is fearless, there is always something to be afraid of. Divergent is a book by the author Veronica Roth. This book is set in the future, In a gloomy version of Chicago that has been divided into five factions: Abnegation, Candor, Amity, Dauntless, and Erudite. Erudite, for the clever, Amity, for the peaceful, Candor, for the honest, Abnegation, for the selfless and dauntless, for the brave. Beatrice (Tris) however was divergent, which meant she had all five factions. She was the definition of rare. (Ch1-3). This book focuses on the story of Beatrice (Tris) and her journey of attempting to prevent the outbreak of war. During this, she meets Jeanine Matthew and Four. Jeanine is a Dauntless who claims she has no fear, while four is an Abnegation who is selfless but has the fewest number of fears seen in recent years.
