There are five specific dimensions of health that determine the overall well being of human individuals. The two most prevalent dimensions being physical and mental health. Numbers such as weight and BMI, determine physical health making it the most tangible and concrete of the five dimensions. Those particular numbers determine how individuals go about their daily activities, or if they do those activities at all. Contrastingly, the dimension of mental and psychological health is harder to determine. Psychological help is further broken down into four sections; feeling, being, thinking, and relating. This particular section was broken down into two parts; the need for accomplishment and freedom; and the need for self-respect, reputation, and appreciation. If people are able to find themselves in the previous step of safety needs, they begin to seek satisfaction in the areas where they feel comfortable; for example, at work. Seeking further satisfaction comes with responsibility and learned optimism. When the expected success does not happen immediately mentally stable individuals will continue to strive for success and acknowledge their accomplishments. At this step, one of the five dimensions of health becomes easy to distinguish; emotional health. Rather than reacting irrationally to unpleasant situations, at this point, emotionally stable people find different outlets and channel their emotions into productivity. The last and top most section of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is Self-Actualization. The ultimate goal in this section is for individuals to be spiritually successful, creative, and on their way to fulfilling their potential to the fullest extent. Different people have different aspirations in life, making this step vary in every individual
