One of the more well-known victims of the Holocaust is Anne. She was a Jew who lived a secret life. Her story is very interesting for many of us because it tells a lot about her and her family surviving in the Secret Annex before it had happened. Her story from the diary helped a lot about how they had to live secretly which was a lot difficult for her and the family.
Anne got a diary from her father on her 13 birthday. Anne keeped everything that happend during all the camps she was trasporred through the past years. She was hid in an anxex when world war two was going on the hiding place was upstairs
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
During the 1940’s, the Nazis gained control over Germany. As the persecuting of the Jews increased the Frank family went into hiding. On Monday, July 6th, 1942 the Frank family went into hiding behind a book case where Anne’s father used to work or known as the secret annex.
The courageous Frank family, consisting of a father, mother, and two young daughters, were tortured during this time period. One particular family member, the youngest daughter, has a legacy that still lives on today. Anne Frank was both a hero and a victim of the Holocaust because she was forced into hiding, her loved ones were killed, and her diaries positively impacted many. During this dreadful time, Anne Frank was victimized by being forced into hiding.
Anne Franks diary shows us to help and not mistreat people because of who they are or what they look like. The Holocaust was a time period during World War 2 when they killed many jews. Hitler was the main leader and his reasoning for doing this was because he thought that the jews were evil and bad. This was a horrible time period for the jews. Some of these jews went into hiding because they did not want to go to the concentration camps to be killed.
Otto and his family and along with four other people were hiding in the annex for about two years. While they were in the annex, Anne had a diary she wrote her feelings and thoughts in. On August 4, 1944 the police found the annex, the frank family was arrested. They were sent to the Westerbork transit concentration camp, the soon they were sent to Auschwitz. Auschwitz was another concentration camp.
It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding.
Unspoken Victims of The Holocaust Of the countless victims of Adolf Hitler’s brutal genocide none were persecuted more than the Jews, however, among the large death toll many others were mercilessly punished for their race, beliefs, or occupation. A major target for Hitler’s “Final Solution” was the mentally and physically disabled. In their article on the mentally and physically handicapped the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum wrote “The Law for the Prevention of Progeny with Hereditary Diseases, proclaimed July 14, 1933, forced the sterilization of all persons who suffered from diseases considered hereditary, such as mental illness (schizophrenia and manic depression), retardation (congenital feeble-mindedness), physical deformity,
The Holocaust is one of the most important time to remember. One family that was affected by the Holocaust are the Franks. Mr. and Mrs. Frank had two girls Margot and Anne Frank. Margot was kind of quite you never heard about her doing something unless she was asked a question. Anne was more out spoken, conceited and more of a daddy’s girl.

Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.
Other Victims of the Holocaust When many people think of the Holocaust, they think of the six million Jewish victims and how they were the target of the Nazis. What people don 't realize is that there were many more victims, such as the Gypsies, Soviet POWs, and people with disabilities and mental handicaps. Knowing about these other groups will enhance your understanding of the horrors of the Holocaust. Out of all the groups the Nazis targeted, only the Gypsies and Jews were supposed to be entirely exterminated. The Gypsies were natural scapegoats since they were outsiders, originally from Turkey.

Anne had an older sister named Margot, and they attended a Jewish school in Amsterdam. In this diary, the Franks moved to Netherlands from Germany because they feared prosecution. After the Germans invaded the Netherlands in 1940, the Franks, another family called the van Daans and Mr Russell hid in a small secret annex above Otto Frank’s, Anne’s father’s office.
When the Nazis invaded Amsterdam, Anne’s father took help from some local friends to hide in a complex of his office. The office is known commonly as the “Secret Annex.” Days were spent here in worry, but everyone kept each other alive with love and support. Anne wrote in her diary, which kept her motivated to live. For two years, her and 7 others hid in solitary.
