"Winter Saturday" poet Earle Birney uses descriptive metaphors to compare farmers to caterpillars, as they leave their homes in the cold winter season. Through these comparisons the author makes great effort to show the similarities between humans and nature. The alliteration "Furred from the farmhouse" (line 1) as well as the simile “Like caterpillars from wood" (line 2) expresses resemblance on how humans, insects, and other species of nature leave hibernation into the cold.

The Lion in Winter opens with Christmas 1183 in King Henry II of England 's castle in Chinon, France. Henry is examining with his special lady, Alais, the forthcoming day 's occasions. Obviously, a great part of the discussion and thought will center around Henry 's successor to the throne. In another room the three sons are as of now scoffing about who will be king, soon joined by their mother, and after that by Henry and Alais. Henry then turns the dialog to the matter at the forefront of everybody 's thoughts: well what should we hang?
Literary Analysis Suspense. It's what makes us sit on the edge of our seats at movies, or has us biting our nails as we read. It’s the backbone behind any classic horror film where the babysitter keeps getting unknown phone calls about checking the children and she asks the police to trace the call only to get a call back saying it's coming from upstairs.

Reading,"The Sun Goes Down on Summer" by Steve Lawhead brought back feelings I have about summer ending, school starting again, and being the real me! Summer ending means no more late night adventures. It means all the relaxing is traded in for hardcore studying. It means getting ready to see which friends will leave you and change for new friends. In the poem, Steve feels anxiety about starting school again, I relate to this in a big way!

The book I choice to read was, “Brian’s Winter”, by Gary Paulsen. This book is about Brian after the private plane he was flying in crashes in to the rugged forests of Canada. Brian went through many struggles while trying the best he could to survive in the harsh environment. Some of the biggest events in this story include when he is attacked by a bear, during the major storms and some of his questionable encounters with the wolves. If I were telling a friend about the entire story in two minutes I would say, Brian’s parents were divorced leading him to visit his father for the first time in a long time.
Our sun is a star, a fiery ball of exploding hydrogen gas. Its thermo-nuclear reactions emit powerful forms of radiation, including potentially deadly ultraviolet and nuclear radiation, yet life here is nurtured by, and dependent upon, this searing energy source and change of seasons. However, there is a common misconception concerning Earth’s distance from the Sun, rather than the significance of the angle of gravitational pull. Today, “children and adults alike, even Harvard University graduates, have a hard time understanding ” the direction of Earth’s tilt with respect to the Sun cause the change in the seasons: Spring Equinox On the 21st or 22nd of March the Sun is over the equator. The equator receives the largest amount of solar radiation
