The book unbroken is about a man named louie zamperini. It talks about the horrors he faced during and after the war such as ptsd, torture, starvation and meny more. In this essay i will talk about the 3 most important traits that led to him forgive his former captors. As well as the one who tortured him the most during his time being a POW and and in his nightmares. The 3 most important traits that led him to forgive them were bravery, determination, and his motivation.
Unbroken is a biography about World War II veteran Louis Zamperini, who was a former olympic track runner who survived a plane crash in the pacific ocean. Spent up to 47 days drifting in the ocean. However that wasn’t even close to how long he spent as a prisoner of war in three Japanese camps. Louis had an interesting , and suspenseful life, but he managed to survive which is the surprising part of it all. This book gave us an insight into Louis Zamperini’s life about how belief is the most powerful, if not essential part of growing and overcoming crisis.

The Destructive Consequences of Greed and Selfishness Greed is the intense and selfish desire for something, most commonly wealth, power, or love. In All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, a symbol that comes up is the Sea of Flames diamond. According to the original story, the holder of the diamond becomes obsessed with its so-called power of immortality and its extreme value and is willing to give up anything to possess it. It depicts how anyone can be corrupted by greed and the desire for immortality. Other than its supposed power the diamond also has a destructive potential since the holder of the diamond will have to give up everything they love for immortality.

In “Heart of a Champions” by Carl Deuker, Seth and Jimmy the main characters go through some things in the book. When Jimmy starts hanging out with his “Cool friends” he starts changing for the worse but later in the book his actions have consequences. In “Heart of the Champion” Deuker shows that there will always be consequences to your actions. Deuker uses a 1st person narrator to show why Seth is angry at Jimmy.

In The Outsiders, Darry Curtis plays a large role in influencing the gang and shaping their actions and attitudes. Darry is the oldest member of the gang and serves as a leader and protector, both to his brothers and to the other members of the gang. He finished high school with great grades and a football scholarship, but Darry decided to stay and help his brothers Ponyboy and Sodapop Curtis. He is also one of the most influential members of the gang. Darry demonstrates this by providing responsibility and maturity, teaching the gang how to be strong and be their own man, and he guides the gang to brotherhood and loyalty
Father Flynn is also innocent because of Sister Aloysius’s different personality combined with the fact that she does not contain enough evidence to properly convict him. She exemplifies this role because she is a nun, and nuns are traditionally strict in the Christian Church. Sister Aloysius is also a principal for the school, which further implements her position as a strict nun. It is obvious that she uses her power to punish the students in the school: “Sister Aloysius: When William London gets a nosebleed, be skeptical. Do not let a little blood fuddle your judgment” (Shanley 12).

Lust for Blood By having the ability to control oneself and their particular desires in different situations, it can conflict with their appearance. In the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, Count Dracula is conflicted between the ability to control himself in his emotions and desires while having to keep his own idea of his abilities, appearances, and personality. As Dracula is put through multiple situations where he can no longer restrain himself is then put to show his true image of himself. Although Dracula tries to limit himself his self-image conflicts with his self control leading to him becoming a bloodthirsty vampire. On the way to Count Dracula’s castle there are noticeable factors that are portrayed.
In the book Old School by Tobias Wolff there are examples of where Tobias is a not so innocent boy. He is often times a trouble-maker and very rowdy. However, there is a passage in the book the hints at otherwise. Deep down Tobias is more innocent than his antics lead on.
