The Goal is written by an Eliyahu M. Goldratt who was an educator, author, scientist, philosopher and a business leader. He was a thinker who provoked others to think how to improve business with a new and fresh idea. Dr. Goldartt was a creator and developer of Theory of Constraint. Dr. Goldartt used a format of a fictional story to put his ideas about turning unprofitable factories into profitable factories. In the reality, the original book was written by the professional writer Jeff Cox who used a fictional approach to creating a story with tension that will capture reader’s attention. 10. The fifth step is using the identification and resolution process to utilize the next bottleneck because bottleneck tends to move from one part of the operation to the next. (Goldratt & Cox, 2015) I think that the manufacturing companies should be more organized in preventing the bottleneck, or in the case, if it happens, a back-up plan should be in place so that there is a minimum of delays in production. The relationship between The Goal and the course material that we’re studied from our textbook, I believe that is related to teamwork and communications. At the beginning of the book, Alex Rogo saw the need for change and step-up together with his executive team members to hire Jonah as a turnaround specialist. As we talked in the classroom about the organizational change and change leaders, The Goal is very much related to the course material in the textbook. The book was very much of my taste and I really enjoyed the reading, and I would recommend this book to my senior management in my organization and anyone else who could benefit from this book. My favorite part in the book is how Jonah never gives a direct answer to Rogo’s questions, instead, he asks the leading questions so that Rogo and his team members have to think hard and come up with their own answers.
