My initial goal of getting into the Masters of Art in Education Technology Program (MAET) and working towards a master's degree was to use technology to prepare students for 21st century learning skills. These 21st century skills are the learning, literacy, and life skills necessary for students to possess and use in the future job world. I presented a PowToons for my admittance application to Michigan State University as a way to explain my goals. Another goal I expressed in the video was how I wanted to prepare my students to use technology as a way to solve problems with others, communicate verbally, and follow instructions independently. This goal was created specifically to better prepare students with disabilities to be successful in the future job force and as a member of society. The final goal I shared was to better communicate with fellow colleagues the knowledge of technology integration, and to then collaborate and best meet the needs of the unique learners together. I have specifically felt a passion to do more collaborating with my fellow teachers who have students with disabilities in their classrooms, since taking online classes . Each course has better developed my ability to design, collaborate, research, and seek ways to use technology to integrate learning to do what’s best for each student. My new goal combines a few of my previous goals, including while preparing students for the workforce and encompassing 21st century skills.
