Introduction
Over the years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of children being diagnosed with developmental disabilities with 2500 children diagnosed in 2010 and an alarming rate of 4400 children in 2014 (Goy, 2016). However, there are limitations to the methodology used. The triangular design requires a large amount of effort and expertise due to collection of data simultaneously and that equal emphasis is often placed on each data type (Creswell, 2007). Despite its disadvantages, the triangular design was still carefully chosen due to its efficiency as both qualitative and quantitative data are collected during one part of the research study at almost similar timing. Afterwards, each form of data can be collected and analyzed on individually utilizing different techniques linked to each data type (Creswell, 2007). All in all, the advantages of the methodology outweigh the disadvantages of the methodology due to the effectiveness of combining strengths of both qualitative and quantitative methods to allow researchers to gain substantial information to best understand the investigated
