Love, with its boundless affection and deep emotional connections, is a powerful force that permeates every aspect of our lives. The story, “The Great Gatsby” does not show examples of true love. Most relationships in the story include unloyal acts, cheating, and manipulation. Gatsby is deeply in love with Daisy. In their relationship, he's doing all the work. Daisy is only with people for their money, she's obsessed with money. Gatsby's love for Daisy is genuine and he is very patient, he waited 5 years for her, and he works hard to provide for Daisy. All he wants is for her to have a good life, he throws parties for her to grab her attention, and he also takes the blame for myrtle’s murder. Gatsby’s intentions for Daisy are real. While Daisy is only attracted to Gatsby because of his wealth and status, Daisy also admits that she loves both Tom and Gatsby, She said in the book, “The Great Gatsby” “I did love him once- but I loved you too.” Their love is all one-sided. …show more content…

Their love was like an illusion, Gatsby did it all for her but Daisy was just a golddigger and fell for her trap he was blinded by love. Myrtle is in love with Tom. Myrtle is drawn to Tom's wealth and social status. She's a working-class woman, she sees Tom as a ticket to a richer life and a better lifestyle. Tom’s confident and assertive personality also appeals to Myrtle, as she desires a strong and dominant partner. Tom does not love Myrtle, he is more into her for the thrill and excitement of having an affair. Tom is already married to Daisy, and his relationship with Myrtle is more about satisfying his desires and asserting his dominance. It's a pretty messed up
