After reading The Great Gatsby, I can say that I think the book was mediocre in my opinion. The ending of the book was not my favorite. I guess I just love a happy ending, and the ending was not the slightest bit happy. I believe Gatsby was a good man and should not have been shot from a wrongful accusation. Daisy should not have picked Tom over Gatsby because Gatsby was willing to go to the extreme to obtain her. His life was consumed by nightly parties with movie stars and his passion to get Daisy to love him back. Towards the end of the book, I started having a conclusion of how the book would end when Wilson became deranged. When he had started talking to Michaelis he started to grow quieter. “About three o’clock the quality of Wilson’s incoherent muttering changed - he grew quieter and began to talk about the yellow car”. Michaelis also mentioned to Wilson while they were talking that he was “morbid” for what he was speaking of. Shortly after ”the holocaust was complete”. The characters triumph over there barriers in many different ways. One of the main barriers being the way Gatsby accumulated his wealth. Gatsby had first lied about his background to Daisy, claiming he was from a wealthy family to convince her that he was worthy of her. He then dedicated himself to her after the war and made sure he became wealthy, even if it was
