The Greatest Achievement accomplished by Harriet Tubman Risks, there are good risks and bad risks, but do the risks people take put their lives on the line. Risk was always in Harriet Tubman’s life. She was a former slave fighting for slaves’ rights. Freedom is taken for granted today, but for slaves in the 1800s they did not even have a choice. Harriet Tubman was a woman stripped of her freedom, but she still accomplished many great feats, but her greatest achievement was how she escaped slavery and came back again to help other slaves escape by working with the Underground Railroad. Today’s society can not comprehend what it would be like not having basic rights, but for slaves back in the 1800s their basic rights did not exist. Imagine being a slave. They work in the fields or in the homes if they are lucky, for six days a week under the hot blazing sun. Out of all the work that they do they don’t receive a single penny. Slaves were also treated like animals, with horrible living conditions. Slaves also lived in a constant fear during their lives.
