There are many different generations, that accomplish many things over the years. The important generations are the greatest, baby boomers, generation X, generation Z, and the millennials. Each generation learns from each other and try not to make similar mistakes. There is a huge difference between the Greatest generation and the millennials. They both have accomplished so much over and have failed many times. The greatest generation was born between 1914-1924. This generation worked through the great depression, and went to World War II. “This generation shared the values of faith, honor, country, duty, personal responsibility, and common sense of purpose” (2005, O’Donnell), the greatest generation never complained about much, and did what they had to do for their families and country. Millennials have been able to learn “the true value of life and how to overcome adversity by working hard and working together” (2005, O’Donnell). The greatest fought for everything that the millennials have now. Many believe that the millennials are the next greatest generation, and can potentially do just as much good as the Greatest generation did. The media makes all millennials seem like “mass murders, hate criminals, and binge drinkers to test failers, test cheaters, drug users, and just all- around spoiled brats” (2009, Howe and Strauss). “According to a national survey, barely one adult in three thinks that today’s kids, once grown, will make the world a better place” ( 2009, Howe and Strauss), when people have faith in millennials that gives faith to them and pushes them harder to do the right thing.
