People all over the world are busy talking about other things than garbage. It’s nothing important that we have to pay attention to. So then why is garbage important to Heather Rogers? We can see how the world is changing and we think nothing of it. Rogers has a different view on things, which is why she’s giving readers a different perspective on how we can make a change to the world. In “ The Hidden Life of Garbage” Rogers explains in great detail that garbage areas are not meant to be seen. The garbage is then dumped to a rural area; for example “the docile river valley near where Washington momentously crossed the Delaware leading his troops into Trenton in 1776”(Rogers189). One of the most memorable historic times is surrounded by unseen, smelly, disgusting garbage. “Sitting atop the landfills 300-foot-high butte composed entirely of garbage”(Rogers189). Has she ever thought that maybe things are better when kept away? The people don’t want to know about landfills, and dump trucks. There is a reason why they pass by our houses early morning to collect trash. Rogers does have a good point and supports her thesis well. Why not take matters into her own hands and solve the problem? For example, creating an organization that will prevent us from throwing away more trash. Reinforcing recycling paper, plastic, and aluminum. In the future we won’t see the world as a dump, but a place where nothing is toxic. Heather Rogers is not wrong. There are many other things that are well hidden from society today. She has a huge voice that can make
