The Holocaust was truly scary for several people, but especially those of Jewish origin. The Holocaust managed to kill twelve million people, six million of which were Jewish. The Frank’s couldn 't get out of the due to the Nazi occupation, so they did the next best thing, which was to hide. Otto Frank was the one who helped arrange it, due to his ties with some people in his company. Otto Frank is an example of survival because he was a natural leader, selfless and caring. Otto was a natural leader because he made his own company and was the director of it. This could be shown as leadership because he made something out of nothing and also managed to control several hundred to thousands of people. Not only that, but Miep Gies thinks this way too, describing him as: "The calm one, the children’s teacher, the most logical, the one who balanced everything out. He was the leader, the one in charge. When a decision had to be made, all eyes turned to Mr. Frank.”(Annefrank.org). According to Miep Gies, she said that Otto was a leader, going on to the next point. The next point is the fact that Otto was a lead role in the annex. When they were all in the annex, the girls would not have an if it wasn’t for Otto Frank. Before the Frank’s going into hiding, Otto also had to join WWI, so he actually had his literal life on the line, fighting for the Germans. Otto’s family actually had a bank, but his brother was not interested in keeping the family business. Otto decided to take care of it instead of letting it be closed down.
