Introduction As stated in the Introduction my topic is The Impact of Social Media on Black College Students. I also stated that in the first section of the introduction some people think that the net generations are multitaskers and in the second section the Western Psychological Association believes that social media networks like Facebook and Twitter consumes the brain. Section three explained how multitasking can cause poor overall performance and how I will be using the Agenda Setting theory to conduct my research which I will later explain in the literature review.
Statement problem To study the results of social media and see if it is really effective in the lives of college students. The first question asked would be for what reason(s) is the student using the social network for? Deep research would show that these social media sites are just a part of how college students interact with each other which has no impact on grades. In June 2010 according to Nielsen Media Research study, almost 25 percent of students’ time on the internet is now spent on social networking websites (Jacobsen, & Forste, 2011).
