While reading this unit material in retrospect to previous units, I found several leadership strategies that I could apply to improve my personal growth. However, three of those leadership strategies that captivate me will be explained here. The first leadership strategy that I can apply to improve my personal growth is embracing opportunities and be willing to take risks. With this strategy, I intend to understand what opportunities are available to me and how they can become real to me. Opportunity and risk, if well-handled can enhance my personal development. We notice that change has become very constant in both business and individual activities, therefore, I will apply and adapt to changes as it affects my personal development. Without adapting to change, it might be increasingly difficult for self-development to take place. Adapting to change is a leadership strategy that I can use to development or improve my personal growth and others as well. According to Pasmore (2014), the inability for most people to change could adversely affect their leadership capabilities. So, adapting to change is vital to my personal growth. Now, to help others, it is simply to get them understand that life, whether in a business or personal, is bound to encounter change and the ability to adapt to change would determine the improvement of their business. I have notice how strategic it is to have others close to me. It increases the level of our communication and improves my learning capacity. Building effective relationship with others teaches us how to acquire some skills and realize what is working positively for us. Additionally, when we build relationships, and open communication door, others learn as much as we learn. In other words, building relationship improves the lives of both parties (Franko, 2013). So, building relationships is a leadership strategy that will help me improve my personal development. Now, how I can use this to help others in the future is quite obvious: I intend to educate people, whether in my social or professional discipline that when we engage in relationship building, then we can discover from others what we do not have. For instance, I have the skill of negotiation but lacking in the skill of decision-making. When we engaged in a relationship, the person that has a decision-making skill and me who has the capability to negotiate can learn from the relationship. This is a practical example of how to help
