From passed generation to the next generation, language has been used by the mankind as a medium to express their thought and emotion. Language also can be described as the best tools to communicate and express opinion either agree or disagree between human beings. Apparently, language also evolves from solely dependent on hard to interpret symbols into a variety of language. In the existence of the variety of language, world has labelled some of the language as international language. This encourages people to learn the particular language thus, makes the language as their second or third language. As a Malaysians, one of the international languages that we familiarised with is English, our second language. Through government initiative, since primary school until university, we, Malaysian students have through on- going learning process of English language. Regardless of the time spent on learning the language, our big question is, “how far our proficiency level in English?” Based on the depth survey conducted by Education First (EF) (as cited in EF English Proficiency English Index 2014, 2014) stated that Malaysia’s competency level in English was the highest among countries in Asia. Surprisingly, we did leave Singapore behind in terms of ranking. Malaysia was ranked at 12 positions out of 63 countries. The outstanding position of Malaysia as one of the countries with high proficiency level in English has given us much to be proud of. But while things seems pretty good on
