“You never understand one language until you understand at least two”- Geoffrey Willan. Our world consists over 6,000 languages, each one unique. Without language, the world would be nothing. From cavemen carving in rocks, to the Egyptians using hieroglyphics, to being able to type a story electronically, language has greatly evolved over time. The ability to understand another language opens up a door of many opportunities. This may include traveling around the world, being able to communicate with others who are different from your race, as well as having more employment options. Spanish is such a wonderful language, hence why it is spoken by millions of people across the globe! Although obtaining the career of a Spanish teacher in eight years seems like it would be quite simple and stress free, there will be a variety of challenges I will have to overcome, such as college and family.
One of the many challenges students face is college, especially when it comes to picking the perfect university. After finding the ideal college, you will be extremely relieved and happy. However, your bank account will not be. After researching a handful of colleges, Millersville University seems to be the best fit for me, geographically and financially. According to millsersville.edu, it costs approximately $25,500 per year for in-state residents. Financially, this is a much better option than other colleges I was interested in attending, such as Bucknell and Florida University. Although Millersville isn’t the most popular and expensive college, I plan on taking the smarter route and not only attending a college that is affordable, but also one that offers a good Spanish and
