The children in a school are valued, with an environment that fully encourages and celebrates their learning and progression and how they are developing. The provision of a safe and secure learning environment for all its pupils should be provided through recognizing the importance of welcoming diversity and equal opportunities. The atmosphere within a school should be positive, with this being reflected in the attitudes of the staff and pupils, all caring for and taking pride in their surroundings and in how the learning journey of each pupil takes

No, due process does not violate the fourteenth Amendment of United Stated Constitution in regards to after school detention because the discipline does not “derive any person of life, liberty, or property” (U.S. Const Amend. 14). In reference to school discipline procedure a detention is withholding the claim of release from the institution of education set forth by the state’s department of education for minor infraction.
For each student I collected 3 sources of evidence of their learning during this unit over the Algonquin and Iroquois tribes. I collected a work sample from their daily notes, Anecdotal records from a daily center activity and I then took a short video clip of each student working in a particular center. Ishel, started out in the archeological dig site center. I knew that this activity would peak his interest, because what fourth grader doesn’t like to dig in the dirt? Recess is an enormass change that happens between elementary and middle school. Recess has a purpose, that middle school should not be able to take away. Getting better grades, calming aspects, and exercise are all reasons why middle schools should get recess. First, getting good grades is essential to getting the future that many people strive for.
Why don’t middle schoolers have a “recess” or free period? Honestly I don’t know. But in my opinion, all grades should have some type of free period like recess. This could help make friends, let the teachers have a break, and give us extra time for missing work or homework. All in all, it is a good thing for us, and even high school.
Students prove to be less fidgety in class after recess. This is important because students are not paying attention to the teacher when they are fidgeting, they are not paying attention to the teacher or their instructions. According to an experiment by a Texas elementary school, kids have fewer disciplinary issues and less fidgeting after more recess breaks. Furthermore, studies show that recess made students more productive in class. This is important because students must be productive in class to learn.
Should middle school students have recess? Middle school students should not have recess at all. This is because they need to grow and mature, they could get distracted from their missing work, and there is more of a chance to get hurt. You may think differently, but there is no denying the facts that prove my opinion. Middle school is a time in a kids life where they have more responsibilities, yet still are allowed to be a child.

(Drinkworth) Recess is one of the only times kids get to run around and stay active. Having recess for just a little bit can make a big difference in a kids health. It may have even been one of your favorite part of the day. In fact, according to Melinda Bossenmeyer, the founder of Playground Professionals, eighty percent of the elementary school children she surveyed ranked recess as their number one subject(12/18/2013). Even though it is assumed that every child, at least through elementary school, is guaranteed a recess, not all kids are fortunate enough to get this free play time. Not only should all elementary schools have recess, all middle schools should

According to the American Association for the Child's Right to Play, many school systems have dropped recess since 1989. “Personal conversations with principals and teachers suggest that they feel pressured to pack more instruction into the school day because of new calls for accountability” (Jarett Olga). Some of the main

I spoke of how much it hurt me when they were teased, and explained how much it lacked even common sense, still less the higher-order thinking skills our teacher was always talking about. I could not have my friends in the class during a business day, but I had the sense to tape my presentation which, almost for the first time, went well for
I think that the physical environment can play a major role in a child’s learning. If the classroom is very closed off and blocked the children will not feel free to explore their surrounding and become more independent. Ms. Laura’s classroom is very open and spaced out, even though the center itself is built with an open concept and only having half walls to divide the classrooms. She has organized the room in such a way that every though the different centers are clearly laid out, it’s not in such a way that makes them feel enclosed and blocked off from the rest of the room.
