One reason recess should be longer than 15 minutes is that recess is vital for overall health. Recess helps obese children (17% of children worldwide are obese). As you can see obesity is a problem, and it can be helped with an extended recess. An extended recess would help these obese children by providing the opportunity to exercise. Not only does recess help obese children, but it helps everyone else as well. Recess might be the only chance where students get to exercise during the day, so we should take advantage of it. Furthermore, many nutritional benefits occur when children are playing outside. For example, vitamin D rays from the sun are vital for bone growth and development. Given these points, recess should be longer than 15 minutes because it is important for overall health.
