On March 12, 1928, the San Francis Dam (made by William Mulholland) collapsed 12 hours after he and his assistant gave it a safety inspection. The broken dam caused about 450 people to be killed. This was the cause of William Mulholland 's horrible reputation. His career came to an end and he lost everyone 's high respect. Some of the people even wanted him to die because he was the cause of them losing some of their family members.
I don’t want somebody to die trying to rescue me. The rescuers shouldn’t have to risk themselves because some climbers take advantage or harsh conditions make it harder. People who put themselves at risk don’t have the right to rescue services. One reason why people should not get rescue services is, a rescuer might die just because a climber takes advantage or the climber isn 't careful.

In "Natural Bridge/Rogue River Canyon," Paul Halupa draws a picture of two dominate forces, a wall of lava and a river. Both the lava and the river are metaphors, lava being the inevitable end of life and the river is the present life that is unstoppable; raging towards the lava. Halupa overall tone isn't sad, but understanding. He understands that people work hard all their life; moving fast and not appreciating how short life is. Halupa’s poem expresses the human condition is like a match, it has an explosive start, then stays consistent till it slows down and burns out.

To start, in the first article, "Young Surfer Girl Tells Tale of Shark Attack", Bethany Hamilton gets her arm bit off by a shark and still remained calm throughout the situation. In the article, Bethany says, "I think I figured out that, like if I panicked, then things wouldn’t go as good as if I was calm" (P. 10). This evidence shows that if she started freaking out or if her adrenaline started kicking in then it would have gone bad. If it went bad she could have possibly died.

Firstly, there are rescue workers whose job is to save people in danger. However, rescue workers also have a high chance of being injured or even dying along with the people who were already in danger. While the rescue workers could also be injured or lose their life, rescuing people is their job.
Linemen have to work in some extreme situations, and deal with fixing something.
