Mathematics is the subject that captives my interests because of its beauty, logic and uniqueness. From the history of man kinds, mathematics has played a crucial role in the development of our everyday life. Even the most abstract idea of mathematics that seen to have no place in the real world, always fits in to complete the puzzle.
Like most people, I used to think of mathematics as a static discipline isolated from the real word. "The Joy of X", a book written by Michael Willer, backing up by "The history of Maths", a documentary by Marcus Du Sautoy have driven interest form the world of ignorance to a mathematical world. During my reading, I particularly find it fascinating the way nature understands the language of mathematic. For example, the concept of Golden ration in the dispersion of plant's leaves, the relationship between the number of pedals of a flower and the Fibonacci sequence.
Through my As-level, in maths and further-maths, I developed a strong interest in core and pure maths. In fact, I taught myself all the As-level core and pure maths modules (core 1, core 2 and FP1). Thus far, Calculus and Prof are the area that intrigue me the most. I enjoy calculus because …show more content…

I did really enjoyed it because it gave me a snapshot of what is it like to be a maths teacher as I would like to pursuit in this carrier. Furthermore, it was a really challenging experience because not only I have to explain to students how to tackle a particular exercise, but I have to bring strong mathematical arguments to convince them every time they ask "why". This experience has dramatically improve my communication skills, confidentiality, mathematical skills and analytical skills as I have to quickly analyse the problem to find the best way to tackle it and provide a decent explanation.
