The Lord Of The Flies Do you think that Ralph is a better leader than Jack? In the Book, The Lord Of The Flies Ralph and Jack are always in a competition to be the leader or all of the other boys on the island because if they don't make agreements and assign tasks to each other so they can survive on the island by themselves until they get saved. The problem is that all of the boys favor Ralph as a leader instead of Jack. So Ralph already has an advantage over Jack for being the best leader and the most favorite leader on the island. Ralph and Jack compare as leaders because they both fight over the conch, they both want to be the best leader, and they both want all of the power, And Ralph is favorited over Jack because or hoe jack treats them Ralph and Jack would always fight over the conch. The conch was a big shell that if you blew into it makes a really loud noise and they used it to call all of the boys to them. The boys like to be with Ralph because he is nice to them and he is very responsible about what he plans on doing to get stuff accomplished on the island by assigning all the boys roles and tasks to complete.
