Salience was shown in this video by showing the importance of different cultures integrating into one. The degree in which the Boys eventually assimilated into our culture is in some ways. For example, the boys adapted to our way of dress as well as the way our laws work. The degree in which they assimilated was more of a point to where they understood our culture, as well as followed the rules, yet didn’t forget their own culture. I believe with the current events in their nation they would like to stay in America for a little while. Most of the Boys when interviewed thought of life in America as too materialistic and fast paced. They value family, so they felt there was no time spared for relationships. High power and low power cultures affected the way the Lost Boys communicated in many ways. For example, the lost boys can no longer travel in large groups because the Americans would fear them. The boys were not used to the freedom they got in America, although busy. There are many differences in the two cultures we are
