One of the similarities between the episode and teleplay was the plot, the story stayed the same throughout the whole episode compared to the teleplay. Another similarity was when Pete Van Horn left for Floral Street. When he came back, Charlie shot him.

One huge similarity is that in the teleplay and episode Tommy has the same theory that aliens are trying to destroy them and they have sent four of their own to Maple Street to start chaos, a mother and father and two children. Another similarity is that the mob blames the same people first Les, then Steve, after is Charlie, who then blames Tommy and mob tries to attack him, which did not happen in the teleplay, because he came up with the idea of aliens. Then it turns into chaos.
The quote, “the tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout.” stands for all of society. The quote means that prejudice can kill, meaning that people acting on prejudice can harm someone in an extreme way. Suspicion can destroy, meaning that when not acting on prejudice, can destroy someone else without actually doing something towards them. This could: emotionally, physically, and mentally destroy someone.

The whole play is wrapped in a language that helps in framing all these techniques and displaying the shared feeling of anger. Miller 's dialogue is a modern realistic one that is far away from being colloquial though it is simple and realistic. It is a modestly rich language that is at the same time deeply rooted in the daily speech.

Within the play/writing, “Romeo and Juliet”, the theme: “brutality of love” is quite evident through the use of figurative language types: personification, simile, and metaphor, as they are used to advance the theme.

The images such as the house and gothic ambience are used to reinforce the idea of giving the mystery to the reader. Edgar Allan Poe uses gothic elements to show how they affect the atmosphere and the characters. In the beginning , the gothic atmosphere of the house is indicated with terrifying images such as “ dull, dark and soundless ” that the feeling of horror vaccinated into reader by the thoughts of the narrator.
In William Shakespeare's play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the use of multiple literary devices makes the play interesting. Dramatic irony, which is when the audience knows more than the characters, occurs numerous times throughout the play and grabs the attention of the audience. Soliloquies, which are lengthy speeches by a character to project their thoughts and emotions to the audience, this allows the audience to be more attentive. Allusions are references by characters to well-known places, events from myths or other literature that cause the audience to be absorbed into the play. After reading this marvelous play, it is obvious that Shakespeare uses dramatic irony, allusions, and soliloquies all written in blank verse to grasp the undivided attention of the audience.
Diction is an extremely important aspect of writing and it usually affects the writer’s whole story. Almost all authors utilize diction to impact the mood and tone of their writing. Diction is the choice of words or phrases that a writer intentionally chooses to influence other aspects of their story. Authors use commonly use diction to develop tone and mood in their stories. Tone is the author’s attitude towards a specific subject.
