The person to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths is Benvolio because he suggested that Romeo should attend the Capulet party even though they were not really invited. “Go thither, and with unattainted eye, Compare her face with some that I shall show, And I will make thee think thy swan a crow” (Shakespeare 1.1.92-94). In this scene, Romeo and Benvolio accidentally find out about the Capulet party, and since Romeo is heartbroken over a previous love interest, Benvolio says that they should go to the Capulet party to find other, more attractive girls. His suggestion is kind to his friend but also dangerous since the Capulets and Montagues hate one another.
