This is my writing assignment comparing The Outsiders movie and book. My favorite quote was“Stay gold Ponyboy” which means Do not go tuff and stay like yourself because you are once in a lifetime. My opinion of both the movie and the book are pretty good. The book was only a little better because it was longer and it had more parts on the other hand the movie you can hear and see more and feel more when you can actually picture it.
For instance you get to know what Ponyboy looks like,on page one in the book it says “I have light brown hair almost red and greenish gray eyes.” You also get to know Cherry more. For example you get to find out her real name and hair color. On page 22 it says “my name’s Sheri, but I’m called Cherry because of my hair.” First the book has more events than the movie because in the book there was a court hearing.
The Outsiders has many differences between the book and the movie.
My class and I just finished reading the book “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, and watching the movie. There were way more events in the book than in the movie. The movie seemed way shorter than the book. The book seemed way more entertaining to me than the movie. They were both great but the book was just a little better than the movie.
For example, in the book, only one person drowns Pony, but in the movie, three people drowned him. This is different because in the book Pony is being drowned at the water fountain by only one person. On the other hand in the movie Pony is getting drowned by three people instead of one like it is in the story. Another comparison between the book and the movie would be when Ponyboy goes to court and doesn’t testify in the book, but in the movie he does. These are different because in the book when Pony has to go to court for the murder of Bob he doesn’t testify in the movie when he goes to court he does testify.
"Outsiders" Compare and Contrast Essay The “ Outsiders” movie and novel are awkward and interesting. Upon watching both they appeared to be somewhat similar. However, after finishing the movie and having time to reflect they have distinct differences.
As I watched The Outsiders movie I realized that there were many differences and similarities to the book. Overall, me being picky, personally thought that the movie was different from the book. I liked the movie, however, I think that I would probably like the movie better if I hadn’t had read the book, that way I would feel so strongly about the who I think the characters are. The scenes were pretty accurate to the book in the movie and there weren’t a lot of scenes that were different, or not in the movie. One of these times was in was in the rumble when it started raining, even though it didn’t in the movie.
Is the Outsiders movie better than the book? There are many similarities and differences to prove which is better. As a result, the book is way more superior than the movie. The book, The Outsiders and the movie have many similarities. For example, the book and the movie include all the primary and vital characters; Darry, Ponyboy, Dally, Johnny, Cherry, etc.
The Outsiders is a book that is about the Greasers and the Socs. In the late 50s and the early 60s there were two different kind of people. Some of the people got called greasers and some got called the Socs, And S.E. Hinten decided to write a book about it and they made a movie. The book and movie are both about killing, robbing, and running from the cops and fighting also there were some kids who became heroes.
A book and a movie can be both the same and different. In The Outsiders there are many similarities and differences with the book and movie. They were the same because Johnny kills a man, they cut their, there was the movie scene, and Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church. Some of the differences is when Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie he pushes him, Johnny doesn't bring a lot of food in the book but does in the movie he does, when Johnny killed the man it was more described but it wasn't in the movie, and Johnny says he wants to kill himself in the movie. In The Outsiders one of the themes is “friendship”
There are some differences in this case. Close to the beginning Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy finds kids playing cards on their turf so Dally does 52 Card Pick Up and chase the kids out of their area. Darry yelled at Soda and Pony tells Darry not to yell at him and in the book Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie Darry pushes Ponyboy down. When Johnny goes to the store in the movie it shows him getting peanut butter, bologna, and bread but in the book it says that Johnny only got bologna and bread. At the end of the book Ponyboy is failing his class.
The Outsiders: Compare and Contrast In the novel “The Outsiders,” by S.E Hinton and the movie by Francis Ford Coppola have numerous similarities and differences. Our thoughts on these particular aspects are very diverse as the universe is. Many things have been either left out or diminished from the movie, which makes it less interesting as the suspense lessens as you have finished reading the book. Although this might be the case, there were also many similarities between the two sources.
Movie review The movie The Outsiders was a story about two rival gangs and the friendships and tension between the members. This story was set around the late 1960’s, and based off of the novel by S.E. Hinton. The book was made into a movie in 1983 and the director was Francis Ford Coppola. The screenplay was made by Kathleen Rowell. This book had a very unique plot because there were a lot of twists in the story and there was a lot of events where the cause and effect of the choices made by the characters had a negative effect on each other.
S.E. Hinton wrote an amazing book called The Outsiders. The book was so good that Francis Ford Coppola made the book into a movie. Sometimes books are like movies but other times there different. This was not the case with The Outsiders. Both the outsiders book and movie contained many similarities and differences that made it very enjoyable to read and watch.
The movie differs than the book in many ways. For example, a big part of the book is Ponyboy, his brothers and their life at home, where in the movie it feels like the main part of the movie is the death of Bob Sheldon and when Johnny and Ponyboy go to the church to escape charges for murder. By skipping the home part, the movie doesn’t have a lot of character
