BiDil is a heart failure drug for a specific racial-ethnic group. Controversy lies in that it was the first drug targeted towards African-American to be approved through the Food and Drug Administration. During research, specifically African-American patients were treated with BiDil; as a result, it is unknown how affective the drug is in other races not studied. There is a debate on whether it is ethical to personalize medicine to specific races since minority races have a history of being underserved regarding healthcare. There are concerns social and environmental factors to disease will be overlooked and instead be attributed to genetic differences, creating a disparity in drug
5. Parens patriae is the doctrine that the government has ultimate guardianship and can make legal decisions such as, making medical decisions or suing on behalf of people who are physically or mentally disabled, the elderly who cannot care for themselves or considered incompetent and children who are abused or neglected and removed from their parents. When the state implements parens patriae they become the guardian and are able to make decisions as they feel are in the persons best
The controversy surrounding Atrazine started when the Syngenta company invited Tyrone Hayes, who was then a faculty member in UC Berkeley’s Biology department, to conduct some simple experiments on the herbicide. At first, Hayes got along with the other scientists at the company and everything seemed to be going relatively well. It was only when Hayes concluded in his that Atrazine might have adverse effects on the sexual development of frogs, that the relationship between Hayes and Syngenta started to go downhill, causing Hayes to resign from his job within the company and start studying the effects of Atrazine on his own. The controversy surrounding the topic really just boils down to Hayes VS Syngenta in the fight over what the effects of Atrazine really are, and if the herbicide is really safe to use in America’s agriculture.

People fighting for ‘Liberty’ “Actions speak more than words” is a modern cliché, and that is exactly what can be used to describe this true hero, Anthony Benezet. Being a strong abolitionist with such a high determination from Philadelphia in the 1770s, he wanted to make good use of the societal changes happening at the time with slavery. His action in proving that black students and white students had the same capabilities of understanding later persuaded more abolitionists to support the fight for the rights of the blacks. He made multiple writings which just kept spreading and impacting negatively to the supporters of slavery.
Adderall is a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, central nervous system stimulants that affect chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to focus and other behaviors. Adderall is often prescribed to those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, also known as ADHD, and other brain disorders. Although the prescribed use of Adderall has helped those suffering attention deficit disorders, the recent rise in nonmedical use of Adderall has led to unfair academic advantages along with an increased pressure to use stimulants among students. Adderall is easily accessible on university campuses due to the lenient health care clinicians and the fact that one can find a person with a prescription willing to sell their pills or even give them away which has created a black market for the drug on campuses. College students are able to bypass psychiatrists and more stringent testing by going to the campus health clinic for an ADHD misdiagnosis (Stolz 2).
2. I believe that the most admirable is Arthur because he is willing to fight to defend his honor, even if his best friend stole his wife. I think that Guinevere is the least admirable because she chose to fall in love with another man when she was unhappy, rather than working on or ending the marriage. 3. I think Arthur has complete control over his fate, but does not know or chooses to ignore it.
After the first Republican debate Fiorina had a significant bump-up in the polls. The reason for this increase is clearly due to the fact that she is a good debater. One of her strong suits is that she is able to speak in a language that is bold and crisp. She has a way of debating that provides straight forward answers, without being afraid to put other individuals on the spot.
The topic I want to investigate is the illicit use of Adderall among college students in the United States. I will be focusing on the prevalence of Adderall on campuses, associations between Adderall usage and other drug use, motives for Adderall usage, and differences in Adderall use based on gender and ethnicity. I selected this topic because I have become increasingly aware of the usage of this drug by my peers. The drug is primarily used to gain an academic advantage over other students. As a neuroscience major, I have studied the effects of various drugs on the human body.

DISCUSSION From the beginning, the therapist had to deal with own doubts and anxiety. The therapist had heard a lot about the psychodynamic psychotherapy but this was the first time he conduct the sessions by himself. Unlike pharmacotherapy, there is no standard clinical practice guideline or recommendation for the therapist to refer to or follow. The therapist was worried that he was unable to conduct the therapy effectively and his patient would not benefit from the therapy.
Young people and adults struggle every day making life changing decisions, and the way that their skin feels and looks should not be one of those decisions. Research made by American Academy of Dermatology stated that “Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, affecting up to 50 million Americans annually.” (American Academy of Dermatology) There are tons of products out in the market that promise radiant, glowing and clear looking skin; unfortunately, those products turn out to give minimal to no results. The acne cleansers have grown and evolved more than just a night wash scrub or daily facial cream.
