Approximately 11% of all children in the U.S. have been diagnosed with ADHD and that number is still rising steadily. This is due to ADHD medicine being over prescribed because kids with other cognitive disorders are being diagnosed with ADHD, as well as, giving medicines to children who don’t need it causes more harm than good, and the children who have been misdiagnosed who are given ADHD meds it is not good for them, while it does give all children more energy because it is a stimulant and seem like it is helping, it is actually worse for them because abuse of Adderall Ritalin can lead to drug abuse in the future. All too often kids are misdiagnosed as having ADHD. Some disorders that look like ADHD are; learning disabilities, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, Tourette's disorder, and even developmental disorders. These disorders are quite commonly diagnosed incorrectly because child psychologists often overlook these less common ailments.
