Affirmative action is an action or policy favoring those of the minority. In this short essay I am going to discuss the moral action opinion of utilitarianism and their Greatest Happiness policy, a libertarian and advocating the minimal state in the lives of the citizens, the Kantian and the thought that if the actions are morally right in virtue of their motives, and lastly the Rawlsian and the fact that we can only achieve the most just and fair principles only if we are all at equal levels. To start off, affirmative action is to favor those of the minority. Looking in as a utilitarianism on affirmative action, they would be against it. Giving special help to those of the minority would do more harm than good. In the end it would end up hurting the majority which has a greater population which, in return, would go against the “Greatest Happiness” policy. It would not …show more content…

That sounds that someone who would be for affirmative action. Affirmative action focuses one trying to have a more equal distribution. Which a libertarian would agree with. A libertarian feels that each person gets to live the life they please as long as he respects the equal rights of others. Affirmative action is giving a fair right to everybody and excluding discrimination. By giving a fair right to everybody libertarians can there for be in favor of affirmative action. If the action are morally right in virtue of their motives. To Kant, the freedom of every person as a human being and the equality of everyone was important to his theory.
