A few decades ago the idea of cloning might have seemed impossible, yet in recent years it has evolved so much that animal cloning has almost been perfected. Due to the fact that animal cloning has been so successful in recent years, and is thought to be so close to being perfected, it is now bringing people to the conclusion that it is now time to clone a human being. With this idea though, people have started raising a number of worrying ethical issues like whether or not human cloning could potentially bring the world any good or just end up causing more problems (The World Book Encyclopedia). In theory you could go all the way as reproducing dinosaurs because all you would need is a well-preserved source of DNA from the extinct dinosaur, and a closely related species, currently living, that could serve as an egg donor and surrogate mother. The truth though, is that you probably wouldn’t be able to do so due to the fact that it would be extremely hard to find dinosaur DNA that could have survive undamaged for such a long time (Genetics;Genetic). However, scientists have been working to clone species that became extinct more recently, using DNA from well-preserved tissue samples. A number of projects are underway to clone extinct species, including the wooly mammoth. In 2009, scientists actually tried to revive an extinct animal and almost had their first near-success at resurrecting this animal. By using goats as egg donors and surrogates, they made several clones of a wild mountain goat called the bucardo—but the longest-surviving clone died soon after birth (U.S. Food and Drug
