From the purely military point of view, the Japanese had lost heavily before the America dropped the atomic bomb to the Hiroshima. Japanese navy have failed and Japanese Kwantung Army could be defeated in one month, and the senior service of Japan didn’t have warcraft due to their Maritime Center had been destroyed.
