In “The Bernie Bomb” by Kimberley Strassel, critical, mocking tones emphasize Strassel’s feelings towards Bernie Sanders’ inability to become the President of the United States. Bernie Sanders gave quite a performance at the first Democratic debate of the year. Strassel shares her thoughts on the nature of his responses to important issues during the debate by concluding that his followers should regret making donations to his campaign seeing that he really is not in it to win. Her witty critiques indicate her strong feelings that donating to Sanders’ campaign in hopes that he will become President, is truly not worth the money. Strassel’s diction heightens the uncertainty and unprofessional manner behind Sanders’ attempt at trying to be elected as President, which leads his supporters to doubt their contribution to his campaign.
Over the past year, American politics have been the forefront of many people’s minds. However, before the recent election, political parties concentrated their efforts on the primaries, where they chose a candidate to represent their values. Regarding the Democratic party, the two main contenders were Hillary Clinton— who later went on to be the Democratic nominee— and Bernie Sanders— an elderly Socialist Jew who appealed to the younger generation. As a part of his platform, Sanders expressed his desire to make college free, causing the topic to become a main headline in the media. Although Sanders failed to become the Democratic nominee, his idea persisted throughout the election, as Hillary Clinton included the ideology in her campaign.
I strongly agree that Bernie Sanders should be the president of the United States of America because of the fact that he has a lot of experience with that. Bernie Sanders was the Mayor of Burlington Vermont from 1981 to 1989 which is about 8 years. He was then elected to the House of Representatives in 1991, where he remained until 2007, at the time he was elected to the U.S. Senate. Sanders was re-elected to the Senate in 2012, and has continued to be in that capacity to the present day. If my math is correct that is 32 years in actual elective office.
Many people seem to think that Bernie Sanders won’t be able to make America great again; however, he has been in public office for more than 30 years. He has seen some of the greatest down falls that America has been through. He knows his facts and he knows his country. Not anyone can really say that he doesn’t know what he is doing, because he surely does. Bernie wants every American that there is to stand together with him, so that he can fight for the support of free health care, free college tuition, and getting our middle class Americans out of
The 2016 Presidential election has seen all political norms cast aside. Bernie Sanders, a far left self-proclaimed democratic socialist, and Donald Trump, a real-estate mogul and reality T.V. Star, have changed how elections will be conducted for the foreseeable future. Both candidates appeal to voters who are distraught with the Washington insiders’ inability to accomplish their goals. Trump, by the self-funding of his campaign, and Sanders, by his consistent denouncing of super PAC's, have fought to change corrupt election financing. "Feeling the Bern" has become the new trend among millennials who are enthusiastic about Sanders economic policies.
On November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln said “that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Today Sanders fears this happening due to a corrupt political finance system which is controlled by billionaires with special interests. However, Sanders is determined to not let that happen. Sanders will take six steps to restore the democracy in America because he believes that this is an issue that should concern all Americans regardless of their political stand
This year is the United States Presidential Election of 2016. Our candidates are either Democratic or Republican. In order to elect the best President, they must show commitment, confidence, and discipline. Bernie Sanders is a better candidate for President over Ted Cruz because he has powerful opinions on controversial, social issues like immigration, gun control, and health care. Bernie Sanders is more suitable for President because he wants to help immigrants have a better life in America.
Bernie Sanders: Not the President America wants But the One We Need Senator Bernie Sanders is the fittest president for the 2016 presidential election and should win because he has the most promising and favorable solutions for the issues that would benefit a majority of the lower and middle class. Unlike other candidates who run their campaign solely based on media attention and wealthy sponsors who pay to have say in the federal government controlling the nation without the people’s consent; Senator Sanders on the other hand is trying to put a stop to corrupt politicians and is trying to benefit “We the people” and not “us, the wealthy individuals of the US.” In today’s current economy, most of the United States’ wealth is held by the 0.1% percent of families in the whole US, that’s about as equivalent of all the wealth of the lower 90% of Americans. The US has one of the biggest income gaps from around the world
Although Bernie Sanders has gained the future votes of many Americans, there are still plenty of other candidates that will give him a run for his money. The largest opponent Sanders faces is fellow democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Clinton is currently ahead in a majority of the democratic surveys, though Sanders has won a few. Many argue: at this rate, why bother? Clinton is so far ahead that Bernie that it doesn’t matter.
Bernie Sanders is a well known American politician who has been the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007. Unlike an unknown author, Sanders allows his readers to know that he is the author of this article; this boosts his credibility and provides
Human rights, education, and child poverty are some big issues that are sometimes overlooked in the United States. There are many candidates that are running for the 2016 presidential election. On the Democrat side is Lincoln Chafee, Hillary Clinton, Lawrence Lessig, Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and last Jim Webb. On the Republican side, we have Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, John Kasich, George Pataki, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum, Donald Trump, and last Scott Walker. I chose very important issues and I feel like we need a president that are very serious about taking action.

Tad Devine, Sanders’ senior strategist answered the question by saying that the ad’s message is that “what Bernie Sanders is building is a movement in America.” However, the answer does not reflect the first third of the ad, where neither Sanders or his supporters are present at any point. By placing images to which a ‘real’ American might relate, the ad implies that whatever “movement” Sanders is building, it’s one in which other Americans like the viewer is taking part, and one in which it is only natural that the viewer belongs. There is a superficial connection made between the stereotypical ‘American’ images and the enthusiasm of Sanders supporters. The ad makes no claim that those who identify with the images in the beginning represent the same demographic of people who are cheering him on, but that does not matter: the association between the ad’s basket
When candidates are running for president, they are fully aware that they will be faced with not just problems of the United States but of the world. Candidates are also mindful that they must represent the U.S. well; they must be honest, thoughtful, have strong leadership qualities, and be great at decision making. One of the candidates that I personally think exemplifies these qualities is Bernie Sanders. Bernie is taking the right steps to gain support by killing his opponents with kindness. They recently aired an ad that wasn’t condemning in any way but simply featured images of the everyday American lifestyle and displayed photos of him at rallies and being genuine, trying to avoid negativity.
To Trust or Not to Trust It was once said that, “The vote is a trust more delicate than any other, for it involves not just the interests of the voter, but his life, honor and future as well”(Marti, 2016, para. 1). Although many do not realize it, placing a vote for someone is a significant action and it has considerable consequences, as this quote points out. If to vote for someone is actually to trust them with “life, honor and future”, the voter must make sure to know and trust whomever they vote for. In the upcoming election, many voters are supporting candidate Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately, it seems they do not actually know her troubling record.
