The government plays a big role in birth control mandates. The government gets to decide mostly everything that goes on with birth control in today’s society. It regulate the rules and requirements that people have to follow, and as of now, the government covers all costs of birth control and requires businesses to provide health care that covers birth control one hundred percent for its employees. Many people are trying to get the government to stop mandating that businesses provide birth control and say that birth control should have to be paid for out of pocket. The most common symptom is cramping. The birth control pill prevent the uterus from making the chemical that triggers painful cramps (Marquez n.p.). Migraines are most likely going to be triggered at the onset of menstruation. Migraines are triggered by a drop in estrogen which leads to menstruation. The pill can stop these horonal ups and downs (marquez n.p.). Some women have large amounts of acne or excessive hair growth. This can be caused by a woman producing too much of the male sex hormone, testosterone. Every woman produces this, but usually in very small amounts. Unfortunately, some women produce larger amounts. By going on birth control, it will slow the production of the male hormone, testosterone, and hopefully clear up the acne and slow down the growth of excessive hair (marquez n.p.). Those are just a few of the minor issues that birth control can help with. There are some major issues that birth control can help with as well. Some women suffer from endometriosis.
